Sojourn Spotlight – Cody Edwards

Cabins, canoes and campfires too! Cody had a great time at True Friends camp last week. With many memories and successes, Cody was excited to share his experience.

Here were a few of Cody’s favorite things! (to the tune of “My Favorite Things”)

Tubing and singing
And of course, there’s canoeing
Cabins and campfires and card games a-playing
Archery and games all including great friends
These were a few of Cody’s favorite things!

There’s something about escaping the city lights and enjoying the peaceful silence and serenity of nature around you. “Watching the sun go down behind the chapel on the first night, and listening to the lone loon call out just as the sun touched the horizon, that was my moment of sacred connection,” explained Cody. True Friends was a wonderful place for self-reflection and self-discovery.

In the morning, the campers attended a Brain Instruction Class where they learned more about their brain injuries and conditions. From there, they chose one of four mini sessions for a more in-depth, educational experience. The afternoons were full of activities and interacting with old and new friends!

“It was a good summer break, one which I hope to experience again next summer,” shared Cody. Thank you to True Friends for providing such a cherished experience for Cody and many others!
