Cow Tipping Press – Untitled by Geri

One morning I woke full of happy feelings and noticed I was alone. Where are my children? Did they go out to play? I started a search—not in the yard, not across the street. Call the neighbor, had she seen my children? No, not today.

I started to search—around the block. They had gone around the neighborhood for a treat. They each had a quarter in their pocket. They had been told not enough money.

An elderly gentleman offered and asked the children what did they want to buy. They expressed a treat. He bought them a tootsie roll. Not what they hoped for but the treat was sweet and lasted a long while in their mouth.

One’s life—young or old—has many surprises and I believe the minor surprises can bring the most joyful moments and memories.
