RX: Take Time to Dream: By Patty C.

There’s a myriad of techniques and methods to achieve physical, mental and spiritual wellness. Today I would like to share a way to fill your life with zest and splendor. You may ask, how on earth can I do that? Well, my answer may startle you, but the prescription is simple, fun and adventurous – i.e Take Time to Dream!!!!!!

The pragmatists will tell you dreaming is a waste of time, energy and effort. Well, I have a comeback for their argument. The world was built and continues to be shaped by dreamers, those noble people who dared to follow their calling in life despite challenges or hurdles they faced, i.e Beethoven, Michelangelo, Benjamin Franklin, Mother Teresa, Henry Ford and countless others.

Dreamers come in all shapes and sizes and all walks of life – from the little league baseball player who aspires to make it in the Major League; to the college student who is a “wannabe” Wall Street Business tycoon.

Let’s face it – we all have dreams. Practically speaking, they are one of the few things that truly belong to each of us. Yet today we are programmed to rush through the day with record speed which leave us exhausted, stressed out, angry, bitter and resentful because we don’t take the time to listen to our little voice within our hearts that contain our blueprint – our purpose for “being”.

And if we fail to heed that prompting, we cannot be fully actualized, free spirited, joyful, peaceful, courageous, compassionate or healthy. Rather, we become miserable, life becomes miserable and we become a real burden to our loved ones and friends.

I think you would agree that’s a high price to pay to avoid “unearthing” that bedrock of truth – the reason God placed us in this world.

I believe every dream is unique and all are important:

“Dreams are like stars…you may never touch them, but if you follow them they will lead you to your destiny.”  ~ Anonymous

Plotting through uncharted territory to arrive at our calling will take courage, perseverance, enthusiasm and lots of prayer. Actually, our heart’s desire is our prayer placed within us by God. And with God at the helm…..

“…. expect your every need to be met, expect the answer to every problem, expect abundance on every level; expect to grow spiritually.”   ~ Eileen Caddy

My challenge for you as we embark upon a new year is to dare to take the journey within. Find out who you really are. Discover the essence of your calling.  Believe in your dream. Share your dream. And live your dream knowing that your dream will bless, inspire and heal others.

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of dreams.” ~ Eleanore Roosevelt

Don’t sit on the sidelines anymore. Step up to the plate, take God’s hand and dream BIG. Our world will be enriched because of YOU!!!!!

Best wishes for a healthy and inspiring new year! May this be the year your dream comes true!
