Patty played many sports with her family and friends while travelling in northern Minnesota. For 12 years, she played baseball, football, and tennis, and also did some ice skating, running, and biking. She could play any and all positions. Her favorite achievement was hitting a baseball out of the park—with her non-dominant left hand!
While she played on informal teams, they still practiced. The best training, however, was the emotional encouragement to try new things. Patty learned how to reach her potential through words of encouragement from her father. She also learned how to work with others’ abilities and skills to create a team.
The secret to playing all these sports? Drink lots of milk!
