Our very own Jennifer Hicks, music therapist and adaptive yoga teacher at our Sojourn Adult Day Center and owner of Joyful Noises LLC, is honored to be presenting a FREE WEBINAR for Music Therapy Ed’s Mindstorm Monday this coming Monday, October 19th at 6:00pm!

Jennifer’s mission is to utilize music therapy and yoga to inspire and empower others to experience and create joy in their lives, regardless of circumstances, age or ability level. She has presented nationally for the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) and the Alzheimer’s Association on the use of music therapy during the grief process and regionally for AMTA on the use of yoga in music therapy. She presents locally on these topics as well as on music therapy and yoga in mental health, adaptive yoga and the use of music for stress management. She has presented inservices for our Sojourn staff on programming for individuals with dementia and on teaching adaptive yoga for older adults.

Research shows that music therapy and yoga promote similar physical and psychological benefits, reducing depression, anxiety and pain and improving motor skills, brain function and quality of life.
